Betty Godin of Fort Frances ON Wins $11,085!

Riverside Foundation for Health Care is excited to announce that the winner of the July Riverside 50/50 electronic raffle is Fay Davis of Fort Frances, ON with the winning ticket number T-2012527. Davis takes home $11,085, with the same amount going to the Foundation. The draw was made Friday, July 30th at 11:00am in the Foundation Office.

When asked if she had any idea why the Foundation office may be calling her, Davis responded with ‘Well, I think so. I checked my ticket numbers, then checked them four more times to be sure!’. Davis, who’s granddaughter helps her purchase her tickets each month said she likes supporting the raffle because she knows that the funds stay local. Her winnings may go towards upkeep on the family hunting shack on Manitou.

This jackpot marked the seventh draw in the Foundation’s current monthly series of raffles. Since the Foundation’s inaugural electronic 50/50 raffle, over $360,000 has been given out to community members. All proceeds from the monthly 50/50 raffles help support health care close to home with funds being used to purchase much needed medical equipment for Riverside Health Care Facilities. The current draws will be supporting the purchase of two space lab monitors that will be used in the OR. These monitors which come at a price tag of $23,000 each, monitor patients’ pulse, blood pressure, respirations, cardiac rhythms and oxygen saturations. In addition, they monitor end-tidal CO2 when a patient is on a ventilator, arterial pressures when a patient has an arterial line in place and perform electrocardiograms which are necessary to diagnose heart attacks. To date approximately $33,000 has been raised for the spacelab machines so far.
